Description
Hailing from Baldwin County, Alabama, ‘Zinner’ Pecan is very vigorous and one of our favorite cultivars for overall nut quality, and its year-to-year production consistency with yields being higher than ‘Desirable’ and similar to ‘Stuart’. There are no serious “off” years. Cluster size of Zinner is 2.5, which accounts for the consistency and high yields. Tree growth is upright and strong with very little limb breakage. If you are looking for a Pecan with stable production and quality nuts with excellent flavor, Zinner is a fine choice and great for the backyard.
Pecan nuts are a natural source of antioxidants, protein, unsaturated fats, and more.
Aside from producing some of the most delicious nuts on earth, pecan trees make very nice shade trees in the edible landscape. Ornamental features include the attractive pinnately compound deep green leaves that turn golden-yellow in fall, and slate-grey color bark that has a lightly fissured texture.

Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 70 to 100 feet tall and 40 to 70 feet wide, the Zinner Pecan Tree is ideal for use as a shade tree and beauty in large landscapes. Because the tree drops a lot of nuts in late summer into fall, we suggest planting at least 35 feet away from a home. A fine addition to edible landscapes, wildlife gardens and native gardens.
Suggested Spacing:Â 80 feet for space between trees
Growing Preferences
The Zinner Pecan tree is very easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil and full sun to part shade. Prefers moist, organically rich, well-drained soils and is intolerant of some shade. Very drought tolerant when established.
